A Unique Design Inspired by Light and Shadow

The collaboration between designers and engineers has resulted in a harmonious blend of hardware and sleek design, incorporating innovative materials for an ergonomic user experience.

The realization technology behind the cosmetic parts of the Shadow Smart Phone is the NCVM plating technology. This cutting-edge technology allows for the application of multiple custom cosmetic options using just one back cover molding. Designers can apply colored chrome effects, patterns, and textures, giving the phone a truly unique and personalized look.

With dimensions of 153x77x9 mm, the Shadow Smart Phone is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry and handle. It offers all the advantages of Google's Android OS, providing users with a seamless and intuitive operating system. The phone features a 5.5-inch touch screen display, a 13MP back camera, and connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G, and GPS.

The Shadow Smart Phone project started in August 2012 at Vestel's R&D center in Manisa and was completed in February 2014 at Vestel City, also in Manisa. The design was showcased at the World Mobile Congress in February 2014, where it received accolades and recognition for its exceptional design and functionality.

The design of the Shadow Smart Phone was based on extensive research on consumer needs in the domestic market and global consumer trends. The design team conducted mobile market research, focus groups, surveys, trend analyses, and studied anthropometric and ergonomic data to determine the ideal specifications and features for the phone.

One of the main challenges faced by the Vestel ID Team was to create a premium design that would appeal to high-end consumers while reflecting the brand's mobile device ideology and identity. They achieved this by incorporating a semiotic expression of the brand through an iconic design element. The triangle-shaped semiotic element with metallic finishing creates an interaction between users and the brand, setting the Shadow Smart Phone apart from its competitors and captivating customers with brand loyalty.

The exceptional design of the Shadow Smart Phone has been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. In 2014, it was awarded the Silver A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category. This award is a testament to the outstanding expertise, innovation, and artistic skill demonstrated by the design team. The Shadow Smart Phone showcases a remarkable level of excellence and introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder to its users.
